Where is a website hosting provider used?
A website hosting provider is used to make the initial connection of a website with the internet. The hosting provider is connected with the internet and takes care of the management of clients' domain names and also addressing the websites in their DNS server.
Besides providing domain name hosting and offering management of the IP addresses in a DNS server, the hosting provider can also offer upgrades in the way of hosting packages. A hosting package consists of web space, a space where the pages of a website can be placed, and often also a database server.
If a website is in the beginning phase of operation and the domain name has been claimed for use in the future, the hosting package can usually be left out and the domain name can simply be "parked". This is generally a cheaper alternative, because the hosting provider only has to create a link in their DNS server to do this.
